going to mexico to travel the baja california peninsula on dec 14, then bussing/hitch hiking across it up until san diego where i'll catch the train to vancouver. harm, simon, and jacob will be my travel mates this time around.

several concerns:
1) some things may turn out expensive. baja california (especially sur) is touristy. to avoid this, we want to hitch hike and camp whenever possible.
2) crime, lots of border crime. segun lo que he leido, unaffiliated non-soliciting tourists are not typically bothered by anyone other than......
3) the police. i've heard mexican police can be real assholes.
4) weather. given that the trip will only last around 20 days, weather can potentially play large factor. please don't rain, i want to go on hot beaches.
