it´s intimidating to write here for the first time after almost 3 weeks away because i can´t possibly describe everything that´s happened. cuba was a unique experience, but for now i´m just going to ignore it until i find time to properly recount it.

we´ve been staying with a host family but it wasn´t really what we expected. por eso cam and i went house hunting today and found a nice 2 bedroom house in antigua (guatemala of course). 550 a month, 250 each. it´ll be nice to have our own little casita in antigua, proper independence. here´s the online listing for our probable new place

just realized it´s listed at 500 and yet we were quoted 550 at the agency, curious that it´d been modified to exactly what our maximum budget was! will inquire tomorrow.

i´m feeling pretty good about my level of spanish at the moment. the school classified me as intermediate, the same level i would be at sfu. however, if i hadn´t done audio lessons, read, practiced with friends, listened to music, and visited cuba beforehand i would certainly be classified considerably lower. doing the classes at sfu alone was not even close to enough.

not feeling particularly talkative at the moment so that´s all for now. tired and waiting for cam and leah to show up here with my key.
