so we're in rio de janeiro. bus ride was something like 14 hours to peurto iguacu, then just over 22 from the brazilian side of foz iguacu to rio de janeiro. ive been forced to say adios to spanish and hola to portugese - i cant understand anything anyone says. thats the only negative thing i can say about rio. the beaches, women, nightlife, and overall beauty are all world class. so many different varieties of football being played everywhere (foot volley, beach football, even blind football) it's no wonder brazil consistently fields amazing teams. malls are frequently built vertically, like apartments, with an index at the front so you know which floor to go to. mcdonalds (..) has some new burgers, such as the super cheddar pepperoni and the mcnifico bacon. we've mostly been cooking though, to keep costs down. spaghetti bolognese, oven ready pizzas, and tortollini with what we thought was normal tomato sauce but tasted like ketchup. everything is a bit more expensive here, but at least during the day we can just walk to the beach and lay there without costing us a penny. beer in a favela night club were only 1 reai for the cheap brand or 2.60 for skol, an also cheap but obsensibly popular brazilian beer. 1 cad = 1.93169 brl, you do the math.
going to check out christ on a hill today then get a much needed haircut. |
